Abstract
How do we characterize and analyze brain signals? This chapter highlights best practices for brain signal processing and analysis. The first part of this chapter describes the type of information that constitutes the brain signals recorded via magnetoencephalography, electroencephalography, and intraelectroencephalography methods during cognitive tasks. The second part provides an overview of the common and specific preprocessing steps for each of these methods by explaining their implementation and their impact on the signal.
