I am honored to receive the BCI Society Early Career Award 2025! Sincere thanks to the selection committee of the BCI Society for this recognition—it’s truly humbling to be acknowledged by a community I admire so much! This would not have been possible without the incredible support and collaboration of colleagues at NERV Lab, Centre Inria de Paris and Institut du Cerveau – Paris Brain Institute, as well as mentors and peers in the broader BCI and neuroscience fields. I'm grateful every day to work in such an inspiring environment!
What a week for the NERV Lab at the BCI Meeting 2025 in the wonderful Banff, Canada!
First, two of our rising stars, whom I have the pleasure to co-supervise, presented their studies during a poster session and a masterclass session: Cassandra Dumas presented her work on the [challenges in Common Spatial Pattern reliability for Neurofeedback](https://lnkd.in/duUCrAd7) and Camilla Mannino presented her latest work on the [use of neuronal avalanches as a predictive biomarker of BCI performance](https://lnkd.in/dTFGcA28).
Then, I had the pleasure of participating in the workshop on AI+Data chaired by Eli Kinney-Lang, where I presented [MOABB](https://lnkd.in/dWGhE_nA) (also known as 'Mother of All BCI Benchmarks') to benchmark classification pipelines in BCI
On the last day of the conference, together with Tristan Venot and Serafeim Perdikis, we organized a workshop dedicated to the exploration of features to improve BCI. It was a fruitful session with a lot of discussions with the audience. A huge thank you to the speakers: Maryam Alimardani, Pierpaolo Sorrentino, Fabrizio, De Vico Fallani, Arthur Desbois, Sonja Kleih-Dahms, Tomko Settgast, Reinhold Scherer & Jose del R. Millan. Finally, on the occasion of the early career award session, I had the honor of giving a talk where I could provide a tour of the current projects I have the pleasure to lead on the investigation of brain interactions for BCI and the tools we are developing for the BCI community, such as [Happyfeat](https://lnkd.in/eRftdEGP) led by Arthur Desbois. I am deeply grateful to the award committee of the BCI Society for this recognition! A huge thank you to the organizers, in particular to the conference chairs Mariska van Steensel & Marc Slutzky, and the scientific program committee chairs Reinhold Scherer and Eli Kinney-Lang for putting together such a great event! We go back to Paris with so many new ideas!
I had the pleasure to co-organize a symposium at the 2024 BIOMAG conference on the crosstalk between brain modeling and data analysis! My slides are available on [HAL](https://hal.science/hal-04701100v1).
Pleased to announce that our paper done in collaboration with P. Sorrentino has been accepted in iScience! Paper available [here](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2589004223028110)
Glad to present our last piece of work in collaboration with P. Sorrentino, E. Troisi-Lopez and G.M. Duma in which we notalby used neuronal avalanches to distinguish epileptic patients and controls! Preprint available [here](https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2023.12.06.23299589v1)
On December 6th, with Tristan Venot and Arthur Desbois we had the priviledge to present HappyFeat at Paris Santé Campus! On the way to go there we were informed that our paper has been accepted in Software Impacts. Congratulations to Arthur Desbois for his huge work! Truely happy to have taken part of the organization of the [CuttingGardens](https://cuttinggardens2023.org), a multi-hub meeting on EEG and MEG methods! I have notably animated a session dedicated to the use of BCI with 3 insightful talks given by R. Kobler, M. Tangermann, and T. Vaughan. All the materials (and many other features!) are available in the dedicated [github page](https://github.com/mccorsi/CuttingGarden2023-RealTimeEEG_BCI)
Pleased to announce that I will give a presentation during the next [IEEE ISBI](https://2023.biomedicalimaging.org/en/) conference. I will present my last piece of work in collaboration with F. Yger and S. Chevallier on the application of the FUCONE approach for bimodal M/EEG fusion. This talk will be given during the special session entitled 'Bimodal functional neuroimaging data fusion: methods and applications', organized by C. Cury and J. Coloigner. During this conference I will present two posters on this approach and on the use of neuronal avalanche in the BCI context. More info to come soon!
Pleased to announce that I will give a presentation during the next [NeuroFrance meeting](https://www.neurosciences.asso.fr/SN23/) conference. I will present my last piece of work in collaboration with P. Sorrentino on the use of neuronal avalanches to inform BCI performance. More info to come soon!
Truely happy to take part of the organization of the [PracticalMEEG](https://practicalmeeg2022.org/) workshop! I will notably co-animate a [hands-on tutorial on OpenViBE](https://github.com/Inria-NERV/BCI-OpenViBE-PracticalMEEG2022) with my colleague Arthur Desbois and I will be a tutor during the [Fieldtrip sessions](https://www.fieldtriptoolbox.org/workshop/practicalmeeg2022/) with Robert Oostenveld and Laure Spieser!
